December 31. New Years Eve. End of the year. The day everyone looks back on everything that happened, what they enjoyed, what they want to happen in the coming year. The same thing happens with 26-year-old business owners. So here we go. I want to start off by thanking everyone who has made everything this year possible.
To my family; thank you for advice, perspective, and ability to play devil’s advocate. I could not have grown and developed Small Grand Things without all the feedback. Both positive and constructive, and for that, I thank you. The months of putting up with my abundant ideas and crazy schemes will pay off, I promise you, so thanks for the patience. I know none of this could have been done without your love, guidance, and support and for that, I am eternally grateful.
To Connection Bank; thank you for believing in me and supporting my dream. The hours of reading, analyzing, reporting we spent back and forth were not unnoticed by me. I am so thankful for helping me bring new business to the community and grow in this town I love. I look forward to our work together in the future as I’m able to grow my little family business and our partnership.
To the Lee County community; there are no words to express how humbled I am by your support of Small Grand Things. From Facebook Shares, to coffee shop talk, to business partnerships, everything helps and spreads the word about what we are doing here in West Point. All of your enthusiasm and curiosity is the unspoken encouragement I need to keep up this crazy dream of mine. I cannot wait to see what our futures hold together as partners, friends, clients, who turn into family. Thank you for your excitement!
To my Momma; I am so thankful to be your daughter. You have loved, supported, and encouraged every. single. one. of my exotic travels, endless ramblings, and harebrained ideas. This one was no exception. I took pieces of dreams we both had and worked them into a physical representation of what we both always envisioned. I couldn’t have done any of it without you, your love, your support. Thank you for talking me through the problem areas, for calming me down out of my overthinking anxiety, laughing with me through the delusional ramblings. The right words don’t exist for me to show my appreciation for what you have done for, for us, and for Small Grand Things, so, thank you.
Alright. Goals for 2019. When you start a small business the standard New Years resolutions don’t really fit anymore. Yes, we all want to lose those extra 15 pounds, run a marathon, finish a book you’ve been putting off, travel someplace new. We all also know what really happens… never fails. We’re human.
Not this year. My goals and resolutions for 2019 are not about me, but about how to make sure the business I have created with the help and love of everyone listed above is as successful as completely possible. So, what does that entail? Honestly, between you and me, I don’t have the slightest idea. This is a constant learning curve. Always changing. Always adapting. But what I do know, I will do everything I know, everything I learn, and everything I need to do to make Small Grand Things have the best year!
