THE TEAM

Set on land established in the 1800s, Small Grand Things Estate is a family-owned and operated business rooted deep in Iowa agriculture. Acres of oak and maple forest include creek beds, waterfalls, pine groves, grass plains, ponds, wildflowers, and more creating a grand backdrop for any event.

A four-generation homestead sitting on 55 acres of family land we now share with others.

You can find traces of our family history throughout the property. Bricks from an original maple syrup cookery are still a part of one of the outdoor ceremony sites. This is where the maple leaf in the branding comes from.

The Guest House was once a childhood home now turned into everything wedding to provide the Grand wedding experience.

Welcome to our family. The grandest thing about working with a local family business, our clients become a part of our family as well. Allow us to introduce ourselves so you can start to get know your new family friends.

Ann Newton Neaves was born and raised in southeast Iowa growing up on a local farm. She spent her days working with livestock, helping around the crops, and perfecting FFA and 4H projects. She has spent the last 20 years teaching elementary and is now the Chief Executive Officer of Small Grand Things.

Danielle Neaves grew up in West Point until moving to Texas in 2006. Graduating Texas Tech University with degrees in communication, Danielle is the Chief Operating Officer and manages the marketing, social media, and operations of Small Grand Things.

Business

Small Grand Things is a family-operated business. When you book an event, you aren’t just a client, you become a part of the family. Our onsite coordinators and staff are available to help and guide along the wedding planning journey as well as provide additional support on your grand day.

As a small, family business, we do it all! From landscaping, to cleaning, to set up and tear down, and everything in between. Danielle and Ann are not only extremely hands-on in the business, they are the only hands! You receive personal care from the individuals who care about the success of your grand wedding.
